going to camp?

You’re probably familiar with NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), which takes place each November. Participants make a commitment to write a novel in one month — not a polished manuscript, a robust draft.
But if November isn’t a good month, or once a year isn’t enough, the Office of Letters and Light, the nonprofit parent of NaNoWriMo, offers Camp NaNoWriMo, two more chances to write a novel in a month, in April and/or July. The Camp NaNoWriMo website doesn’t have quite as many bells and whistles, but if you sign up, behind that modest tent flap you’ll find all the personal and tech support, forums and structure that tens of thousands of writers have come to expect from NaNoWriMo.

I didn’t realise they swapped the months around for Camp NaNo. I participated last August and it helped me write the first draft of a novel. I will take part again this year. July, I think. Happy writing
